"The main reasons for companies seeking help are to manage the closing down or down-sizing of the company. Most of the companies have traded successfully for a number of years, some were even in the early stages of expansion when the recession hit and their orders stopped, sometimes almost overnight. On the whole they want to support their staff, many of whom have been with them for many years, helping them manage the transition into employment. I often hear that they would take their staff back in an instance if they get new orders, and in a few cases when things have turned around that's actually happened."

Jeff Priestley is a Partner with The ChangeKey Partnership (ChangeKey) who leads on delivering services to companies operating in the private and public sectors across the East Midlands. His work with individual clients involves helping them manage redundancy and the changes that involves, primarily on the career front. His expertise lies in identifying training needs, career counselling, coaching managers and individuals, facilitating career workshops and training sessions. The focus tends to be mainly on job search, interview coaching and CV development. 

In Jeff's experience "when an individual is at risk or has actually been made redundant it is vital that they are able to get friendly and professional career support as soon as possible and from someone who understands what they are going through and has the skills and knowledge to help them. Often they enter a completely new scenario for which they have little or no experience. It's a difficult time but I'm here to help them get through it and move forward."
